NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. was a hit at Cedar Point Thursday as fans lined up for autographs and pictures.

Earnhardt attended the park as part of Cedar Point's third annual Wheels of Thunder campaign, which highlights racing-theme events.

He was also part of the American Red Cross Firelands Chapter's Ultimate Ride Auction, where winning bidders met Earnhardt Jr., landed a ride in the Goodyear blimp and also got to hop on Top Thrill Dragster without waiting in line.

Hi folks, Great to see Dale junior is still involved in racing, although I can't figure out what he is signing in the picture. It would be good to see Goodyear with a more racy blimp than their old WW2 designed gas bag. A skyship 600L can overtake it using only one of its 300hp Lycoming engines. the last time i checked dale jr was voted the most popular nascar driver for the last 10 years straight. i don't think he came to cedar point to declare himself a nascar legend, although i know there are millions of race fans that agree he already is. he will be remembered long after 99.999% of todays racers are long gone. some people just don't understand what being a legend means.  these are most likely the same people that think Lebron shouldn't have had a choice on where he chooses to display his talents. jealousy and bitterness in this neck of the woods runs wild.    RE; Bailey, my first impression of you here is that you are not very intelligent.

I have to say that I agree with Buff. I am an avid follower of NASCAR and have been for many years. I do like Jr but I have to say that he is one who only gets media attention because of his father whom was an amazing racer. That was great that he came to the area and gave this area a positive story for once but as far as the title of this story, legend does not belong.

Wow!!! Everytime I log on here I am amazed!! Does it make people feel better to always post negative things??? Really??? Dale Jr is a good racer and a very nice and down to earth  driver.  He deserves the press he is getting just as much as every personality that comes to Cedar Point!!!!  And Jr does not consider himself a legend either...Bailey don't you have anything else better to do????

Ditto to Buff's post. I cant think of a single person who thinks that Dale is worthy of the type of media coverage he recieves, not one.  Maybe a nice guy, but what exactly has HE done to deserve this media attention?

It's awesome that he's here and giving the local community positive press.  I just have one concern with the story, Dale, Jr. is not what I would consider a NASCAR legend.  His father, yes.  Jr. not now, maybe eventually.
