JUST IN: Sandusky school board crushes construction talk

Ohio School Facilities Commission staff and planners traveled from Columbus, Canton and elsewhere to update the Sandusky school board on where they stand with the commission, but school board members ended the discussion almost as soon as it began.
With the city and region suffering economically, board members said the community just can’t afford new school buildings. “I just don’t see how we can even begin to think about new facilities with everything we’re facing right now,” Richard Koonce said.
