A 21-year-old Port Clinton man was taken by medical helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center on Wednesday evening after his car crashed and rolled over in Portage Township.
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers investigating the crash said Jamison Walker was driving a 1998 Buick Regal west on Ohio 163 at 6:20 p.m. when he went off the side of the road and hit a guardrail near the Kroger plaza.
After hitting the guardrail, troopers said, "His vehicle then rolled over and came to a rest facing eastbound on top of the guardrail on the other side of the roadway."
Port Clinton Fire and EMS responded to the scene and took Walker to Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. From there he was taken by medical helicopter to Toledo.
Walker had not been wearing a seat belt. Troopers are still investigating the crash, but alcohol is believed to be involved.
