Group wants residents to help fight algal bloom, promote Lake Erie
Jan 20
2012
The Lake Erie Improvement Association is hoping area lake lovers will join in the fight against the Lake Erie's algal bloom.
The association, affiliated with the nonprofit Lake Erie Waterkeepers, is pushing a two-prong approach: It wants to help research agencies battle the bloom, but it also wants residents to join in the effort to promote Lake Erie's recreational and tourist offerings.
Said association founder Sandy Bihn: “We want to promote all the good things about the lake, at the same time we’re trying to fix it."
The association is aiming to have its website up and running next week. The site is www.lakeerieimprovement.org.

"GO to the NASA link for an explanation??" Ha! Ha! Yeah, let's reference the very people who were CAUGHT and PROVEN to be LIARS to the people about this HOAX to propagate more funding for NASA. I have fished the lake (not the tootsie roll bay or west of St. George) all summer and into fall. I have seen the algae but NOTHING like what is depicted in that picture. Those who fish the lake know EXACTLY what I am talking about. That is WHY I question the photo-shopped picture by the pillars of science called NASA! The picture is MADE to show a deadly pestilence about to KILL us all. Ha! Ha! So, the premise is for EVERYONE to hurry up and PAY OUT more TAXES before this pestilence KILLS us and make up for what Toledo, Detroit and Windsor dump into it?? You might want to look at OUR very own DUMPING violations by the very government who wants MORE of our MONEY. Can any of you liberal crybabies explain that for me?? I want a clean lake just like everyone else and I PAY for it. There are TWO nations, multiple states and MILLIONS of people involved with the health of the lakes. Here is a tip. Canada does NOT want to PAY OUT for what the U.S. dumps into the lakes and vice versa. The solution is NOT more spending and more TAX dollars for more FAILURE. It is PROVEN all that money goes right down the drain doing absolutely NOTHING but making liberal environmentalists "FEEL GOOD" about themselves! How about doing some international cooperation? No? I guess it is much easier to put the GUILT trip on everyone to FORCE them to PAY OUT for everyone else. You know, like we already do for the success of welfare, entitlements, schools, reparations and two years of unemployment. Yeah, that is the solution. Ha! Ha!

Somebody please explain to me how we can get the lake cleaned up without regulation. We hear all about "smaller government, less regulation, and defund the EPA" from the white male screamers, yet IMO the fed will need to step into to solve this problem.
Regulating Detroit's sewage would cost the "little guy." This is an example of a problem that cannot be solved locally. It is a federal problem because the lake borders several states, and no single state or local community can solve the problem alone.
The EPA will work with "lying scientists" to help us, "the little guy" protect our natural resource.
Go to this NASA link for an explanation about the picture used in this article. It is not "doctored." There is a very short explanation about the cause.

Polluting rights are a valuable commodity among big business . Whoever has more money can dump whatever they want wherever they want . BUT the EPA and regulation are what's really hurting this country. ; )11:43 PM

I guess the deniers never go out onto Lkae Erie. Fishermen tell them what you saw last summer. I am not even going to try to explain climate change evidence to those who cannot understand. This is not a political issue. Lake Erie is all of ours and must be protected.
Taxpayer: Please provide some type of proof for your accusations. What "doctored" photographs and data are you referring? Who is lying?

Can ANYONE authenticate the photo?? Or, is it a "doctored" up photo by those liberal NASA scientists who have PROVEN to LIE just to make it look worse? Are ANY of you suspicious of this photo from this group who wants.......get ready.......MONEY?? The NASA scientists were caught LYING about all that climate data and falsified photos to propagate a global warming HOAX. They needed a way to SCARE people so they would get PAID more. Their budget has been cut and many of them got the BOOT to unemployment. Come on liberals, I KNOW you have plenty of EXCUSES for the so-called precise and ANALytical FALSE data presented to enhance a HOAX. It is truly extraordinary that ALL these pillars of academia must result to the common liberal practice of LYING! People LIE to cover up a wrong. Once they continue with that welfare of entitlement LYING, it gets worse until finally CAUGHT! Ha! Ha! I believe there is an algae problem, but NOTHING that is depicted in the photo-shopped picture. I have noticed environmentalist who DEMAND we eliminate or tax the people more for using plastic bags and drink bottles just happen to be using those very SAME products themselves. Can ANY of you liberals explain that gem of hypocrisy? No? Just wondering. "Monkey see, monkey do. OK for us, but NOT for you!" Seems like the motto of a president. How is that global warming working out for you?? How about you losers going to the Northwest with their miserable winter weather and convince them everything is peachy? Just do the liberal achievement of LYING! You will fit right in! Ha! Ha!

EPA ? They have other priorities, like picking on a plant that has been productive for 45 years, and cheating the Sacketts out of their property. They need to send the nazis to Detroit.

It's difficult to try to help with this issue at the citizen level when commissioners allowed 3.5 million gallons of sewage to be dumped into the bay!!
