Unemployment in Huron and Ottawa counties fell last month, continuing a general trend toward a better jobs situation across Ohio.

Huron County still ranked 13th among Ohio's 88 counties in joblessness in May, but its 12.7 percent unemployment rate was an improvement over the 14.4 percent rate in April and the 14.9 percent rate in May 2009.

Similarly, Ottawa County's 10.8 percent rate in May represented an improvement over the 14 percent rate in April and the 12.1 percent rate in May 2009.

Unemployment also fell in Erie, Sandusky and Seneca counties.
