Car break-ins plague Perkins

2012
Perkins police are investigating a series of car break-ins Wednesday on Hoffman and Kevin drives.
A witness called police at about 3 a.m. and said a car was blaring music as it crept down Hoffman Drive.
When officers arrived they couldn’t find the car, but they spotted a parked car that had its dome light on and a door open, a police report said.
The owner of the car soon learned someone had entered the vehicle, although nothing appeared to be missing, the report said.
Later that morning, officers took four more calls from residents whose cars had been burglarized. The residents live on Kevin Drive — two in the 500 block, two in the 600 block. A sixth break-in was in the 3800 block of Hoffman Road.
The thieves targeted unlocked cars and stole loose change. All told, they made off with about $10 in change, a credit card and two prescriptions for high blood pressure medication.
Anyone with information can call Perkins police at 419-627-0824.

A couple years ago thieves broke into my car as well while it was parked in my driveway off the street....funny thing is they only took change, but left the keys to my house and a bunch of CDs on the front seat. They could have easily broken into my home simply by unlocking the door, but didn't. The police told me they were probably kids or people just looking for drug money. Word to the wise - never leave a spare set of house keys in your car.

These are probably the same people that used to do the same thing inside the city, I watched them and called the police a couple times, but they do not stick around long enough to be caught. They have probably found that the people in Sandusky started locking their doors more than they used too, so now they have moved out to Perkins. Much like lions moving to find new prey.

Drug users needing a fix will risk jail time for their next high. Oh, I forgot, they won't do jail time with our court system.
