(Updated information)
The charred wreckage of a semi-truck is all that remains after a fire started in the engine compartment.
Christopher D. Trecarcichi, 35, Brook Park, and his passenger fled from the truck before it became engulfed in flames.
Trecarcichi traveled on Ohio 2 at about 5 Monday morning when he smelled diesel fuel.
He pulled off the interstate and into the Wal-Mart parking lot on Milan Road, where he saw a small fire in the engine compartment. Perkins firefighters arrived but the fire destroyed the semi and the trailer.
Trecarcichi told officers he did not have any insurance.
A semi was fully engulfed in flames in the early morning hours in the Walmart parking lot, U.S. 250, Perkins Township. No one was injured.

State required liability doesn't cover your vehicle for loss or damage, only other peoples vehicles, injuries and property damage.

wow.. thank goodness that no one was hurt or killed..I am surprised though that there is no insurance on this truck???? I thought that it was mandatory for all vehicles to be insured that are on the road???

Didn't know that STATE ROUTE 2 was an interstate... hmmmm. Scary that this guy doesn't have insurance though. Thank the powers that be that everyone is ok. The outcome could have been much worse.
