Ruth (Lippert) Battles, 91, formerly of Norwalk, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, in Smithville Western Commons, Wooster, Ohio, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Battles lived most of her life in Norwalk. She was a 1934 graduate of Norwalk High School and was a lifelong Norwalk Trucker sports enthusiast. She also enjoyed collecting antiques.
She is survived by her sons, Herbert W. Gallup of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and David Battles of Norwalk; and daughter, Sabra Battles of Westfield Center, Ohio; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Helen Lippert and three sisters, Gertrude Miller, Lee Jaffe and Mildred Lippert in infancy.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday until services at 11 a.m. in Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Adrian Doll, pastor of The First Presbyterian Church, Norwalk, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.
