Norman E. "Stormin Norman," Simmons, 82, formerly of Huron, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, in Concord Care and Rehab Center, Sandusky.
He was born July 20, 1924 in Waterloo, Mo. He retired from CCC Trucking Company, Sandusky, after 25 years. After retiring, he worked for the Erie County Senior Center from 1983-95 and drove the transportation bus.
He was an avid golfer, bowler and enjoyed dart ball. He was a member of the Sandusky Eagles and the Sandusky AMVETS.
He is survived by three daughters, Viola Jones of Florida, Patricia Mendes and Janet Simmons, both of Sandusky; a son, Billy Ray (Charlotte) Simmons of Vermilion; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother, Louis Simmons and sister, Dorothy Wilcox, both of Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Maggie" (Siebert) Simmons; and wife, Alta (Kneisel) Simmons; his twin sister, Naomi Ommert; sister, Margueritte Morgan; and brothers, Paul and Glenn Simmons; and parents, Whitt and Viola (Gentzel) Simmons.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today in Foster Funeral Home, 410 Main St., Huron, with services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
