Helen J. Ihnat, 89, of Marblehead, died Dec. 20, 2006, in Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton.
She was born Dec. 16, 1917 in Port Clinton, the daughter of Peter and Katherine (Marek) Sztuk, now deceased. She married George Ihnat and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Ihnat was retired from General Motors where she worked for 24 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Church, Marblehead.
Surviving are her sons, Charles (Carol) of Port Clinton; and daughter, Georgia (Ralph) Dexter of North Kingstown, R.I.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond, Henry and Edward Sztuk; and sisters, Mary Thomas, Janet Trucano and Kay Gutaikis.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside--Marblehead, where Panachida service will be 7 p.m. Friday. Divine Liturgy with the Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated by The Rev. Basil Hutsko will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Byzantine Church, Marblehead, where additional visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in St. Mary's Church Cemetery, Marblehead.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Church or Hospice of Memorial Hospital, Clyde.
