Larry R. Cress, 53, of Collins, Ohio, died early Saturday morning, Dec. 16, 2006, in his home.
He was born Feb. 1, 1953, in Russell County, Va., and lived in the Collins area most of his life. He was a 1971 graduate of Huron High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a former employee of Nelson Tree Service and enjoyed repairing lawn mowers, woodworking and carpentry.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa A. (Frank) Rogers of Kingsport, Tenn.; his mother, Mabel W. "Wilma" Cress of Collins; four grandchildren; his brothers and sisters-in-law, James R. Cress of New London, Clarence L. (Beth) Cress of Willard, and Lindsey I. (Teresa) Cress of Gate City, Va.; and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda (Donald) Bartlett of Norwalk, Peggy (Robert) Chappelear of Norwalk, and Diania Fulton of Weber City, Va.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal L. Clark, in 2006, and by his father, Clarence L. Cress, in 1998.
Friends may call from noon Tuesday until services at 2 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Raven Fields will officiate. Burial will be in Collins Cemetery.
