Melanie S. Meeker-Nichols, 49, of East Bend, N.C., formerly of Norwalk, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, in Forsyth Hospital in Winston-Salem.
She was born May 9, 1957, in Norwalk to Winton Daniel and Marjorie (Bohn) Meeker. She was a 1975 graduate of Western Reserve High School, Collins, Ohio, and a graduate of Bliss Business College in 1985. She also graduated summa cum laude from Urbana University and was a certified personal secretary. She retired in 1996 from R.J.R. Nabisco after 23 years in sales and integrated logistics. She had many artistic hobbies, which she loved to share with her friends. Known to be a very caring and giving person, she was a blessing to her many friends.
She is survived by her husband, Todd Nichols, with whom she celebrated her marriage, Nov. 11, 2006; stepchildren, Tracy of Connecticut and Stephanie and Stephen of North Carolina; and mother, Marjorie of Norwalk; many loving cousins, uncles and aunts, especially Sandy Motolik, who was a blessing during her last days.
She was preceded in death by her father, Winton Meeker in 2005.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Monday until services at 11:30 a.m. in Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Stewart Roten of Mountain Valley Hospice in Elkin, N.C., will officiate. Interment will follow at Hartland Ridge Cemetery.
