Helen E. Wilson, 86, of Sandusky, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 12, 2006, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy battle with kidney disease.
She was born June 4, 1920, in Sandusky, and was a graduate of St. Mary Central Catholic High School with honors in Latin. She had worked at the La Riveria Motel and Esmond Dairy, and she spent many years lovingly taking care of her children, grandchildren and the Klein Kids. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting and numerous other crafts. She volunteered to help at the Community Supper Program and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons; Ann (Ricardo) Ramales of Port Huron, Mich., Helen "Tudi" (Mark) Blakely, Ronald (Ginny) Wilson and James Wilson, all of Sandusky, and Kathleen Jensen of Huron; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four additional great-grandchildren on the way; brother-in-law, Bob "Lefty" Wilson of Sandusky; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends, Gertie Patsch, Carla and Dick Beal.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Wilson on Nov. 13, 1987; parents, John and Oliva (Missig) Malahy; two sisters, Mary Margaret Sartor and Dorothy "Mick" Klein; two brothers, John and James Malahy; two great-grandchildren, Erik L. Hess and Chad L. Roesch.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 9 :30 a.m. Saturday. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Philip Feltman will officiate. Entombment will be held in Meadow Green Memorial Park Mausoleum, Huron.
