Richard G. Cook Sr., 65, of Port Clinton, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, in his residence.
He was born June 17, 1941, in Wilder, Va., the son of Jasper and Nannie Belle (Osborne) Cook, now deceased. He married Dolores Mowel on March 15, 1969, and she survives. He worked for Uniroyal in Port Clinton. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He is a life member of the D.A.V. and VFW Post 2480 Port Clinton and a member of American Legion Post 113, Port Clinton and Eagles Lodge Aerie 2295, Port Clinton. He enjoyed playing his guitar and making Martin Houses.
Surviving are his wife, Dolores; sons, Richard G. (Jennifer) Cook Jr. of Port Clinton; Travis L. (Darlene) Cook of Port Clinton; grandchildren, Coty, Joshua, Alexis, Chloe and Quinton; brothers, Walter, Howard and Herman Cook, all of Port Clinton; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Prince.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Ed, James, Oscar, Curtis and Frank Cook; and sister, Antha Taylor.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today in Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice, Sandusky.
