Eleanor Anne (Filson) Rowley, 82, of Sandusky, passed away at home with her loved ones by her side in the early morning hours Saturday Dec. 9, 2006. Eleanor was admired and loved for her joyful, determined, and positive approach to life. Ellie gained respect for her numerous leadership roles and community contributions over the years as a founder of the first local Learning Disabilities Chapter, a founder and former chairman of the board of Kinship House, all while serving in various roles within her Grace Church community. She enjoyed sports and was an active, successful athlete in her high school and college years. Locally, she enjoyed many years of pleasure in her golf community at Plum Brook Country Club. Ellie's theatrical flair and passions were displayed in the annual "Follies" fundraiser and throughout her modeling years and decades of community theatre involvement, where she assumed leading roles in Southington, Conn., as well as with the local Harlequins group.

Ellie is survived by three daughters, Joanne Rowley of Newburyport, Mass., Pamela (Dan) Ross of Flat Rock, Ohio, and Elizabeth (John) Moritz of Vancouver, Wash.; a son, Rob Roy (Marta) Rowley of Portland, Ore.; eight grandchildren, Rob's children: Jessica, Raven, Bonney, and Colleen, Pamela's children: Leon and Julia, and Elizabeth's children: Zachary and Gabrielle; and three great-grandchildren, Leon's children, Xavier, Izaac, and Mya.
