CASTALIA

Phyllis Marie (Fannin) White, 69, of 6811 Parker Road, Castalia, went home to rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Sunday evening, Dec. 10, 2006. Mom fought a good fight, kept her faith and finished her course surrounded by her family.

Mom was born July 1, 1937, in Louisa, Ky., and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. She may not have had much as far as material goods, but Mom more than made up for it by her rich spirit, giving to and caring for others. No kinder or gentler person can be found.

Among Mom's favorite pastimes was going to garage sales and shopping at bargain stores. She also was an animal lover and only recently, due to her health, did not have some favorite pet running around her feet. She taught us all compassion and how to appreciate life and each other. Mom never had a bad word to say about anyone. To define Mom's true character one only needs to read about the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31.

Mom is survived by her husband and soul mate of 51 years, Harold White; her sons and daughter-in laws, Tim (Deb) White of Castalia, Mark (Marie) White of Sandusky, and Steve White of Castalia; her grandchildren, Danny, Ashlee, Caleb and James White; her brother, Paul (Wanda) Fannin of Monroeville; her sister, Freda Patrick of Pontiac, Mich.; her stepbrother, Everett Junior (Donna) White of Ashland, Ky.; her stepsister, Janice (Walter) Hale of Ashland; and many loving nephews, nieces and friends.

Mom was preceded in death by two children, Harold David and Phyllis Ann; one granddaughter, Lisa Marie; her mother, Myra (Ruggles) White; and her stepfather, Everett White.

Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Friends may also call from 9 a.m. Thursday until services at 11 a.m. at Wayside Temple, 3809 Maple Ave., Castalia. Pastor Rusty Yost will officiate. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Broadcasting Ministries, 3809 Maple Ave., Castalia, OH 44824.
