Virginia Mae (Zerbe) Roberts, 77, of Sandusky, passed away early Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, in Parkvue Health Care Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 10, 1929 in Sandusky, to Claude and Flora (Emich) Zerbe. Virginia graduated from Sandusky High School in 1947. She was married to her husband, Edwin, for 58 years and together they owned and operated Roberts Typewriter Service in Sandusky for more than 50 years. Virginia was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sandusky. She was active in the Women's Civic Club and remained very active in Sandusky until her retirement. Virginia was also a member of Sandusky Chamber of Commerce. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Edwin Roberts; son, Jeffrey G. (Lynn) Roberts of Roanoke, Ind.; daughter, Jill (Steve) Lazarevich of Parma, Ohio; grandchildren, Joshua and Christine Lazarevich and Christopher (Jenn), Zachary and Elyse Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude G. and Flora (Emich) Zerbe.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Friday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church, 265 Jackson St., Sandusky, with The Rev. Kimberly Secrist-Ashby officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
