Pastor Pervis David Brown Sr., 84, of Sandusky, departed this life after a brief illness Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Aug. 13, 1922.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Faye (Tucker) Brown; children, Pervis D. (Sandra L.) Brown Jr., Mattie L. (Ervin) Owens, Patty Brown, Minister Josiah P. (Renee) Brown Sr., Velma M. (Calvin) Brown-Lee, and Ruth Crosby, all of Sandusky, Gloria J. (Pastor Abraham) Brown-Wade of Darby, Pa., Pastor Jonathan D. (Cecilia) Brown of Dothan, Ala., Pastor Delores J. (Pastor Commadore) Burel of Fremont, Dr. "Pastor" Amelia (Dr. Michael "Pastor") Cleveland-Traylor of Twinsburg, Ohio, and Paul Sabbah of Toledo; brothers, George Brown and Peter Brown, both of Sandusky; sister, Chris Willimore-Rogers of Sandusky; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mattie Lou Brown; daughter, Iona Marie Brown; sisters, Lola Bell Brown, Drucilla Hearns, Marvelene Willimore in infancy, Florine Willimore Bolton and Jane Bell Willimore; and brothers, Charlie Brown Jr. and John Carl Brown.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. today in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Pastor Jonathan D. Brown, son of the deceased, will officiate. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery.
