Bernice Haralson, 64 of Fremont died early Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006 at Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 2, 1942, in Bassville, Miss., to the now deceased Charlie Carl and Lottie Mae (Reese) Griffith. Bernice attended Carver High School in Bassville. On May 1, 1960, she married Jewel Haralson, and he survives. Bernice was a member of the First Baptist Missionary Church, Fremont, Mother at the church, Nurses Society with the First Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Surviving are children -- Charles Wayne (Angie Gutierrez) Griffin of Fremont, Thomas (Sandy) Haralson of Philadelphia, Pa., Jerry (Jena) Haralson of Columbus, Ohio, Wilfred (Kim) Haralson of Jacksonville, Fla., Charlotte (Cornelius) Brown of Columbus, Ohio, and Rebecca (Malcom) Jones of Fremont; siblings, Hayes Griffith, Lucius "Pete" Griffith, all of Bassville, Miss., Edward "Ned" (Gina) Griffith of Pascagoula, Miss., Nancy Caston of Gulf Port, Miss., and Ike Charles (Nannette) Griffith of Findlay, Ohio 19 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and sister-in-laws Catherine Stubbs, Louise Haralson, Georgia Woodson, Deeiolie DeVaughn, Mary Price, Anita Reed and Bobbi Haralson. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings - Bobby Griffith, Carmon Christy and Augusta Griffith.
Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont.
Services will be held on Saturday at the First Baptist Missionary Church at 10 a.m. at church. Pastor William Holmes will officiate.
