Dale A. Ramsdell, 67, Sandusky, died unexpectedly late Tuesday evening, May 4, 2010, in University Hospitals in Cleveland.
He was born in Sandusky, April 5, 1943. He was a 1961 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was a Vietnam War veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. Dale was owner/operator of Ralph's Garage in Sandusky with his brother Glen, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sandusky Yacht Club, AMVETS Post 17, American Legion Post 83 and VFW Post 2529. Dale enjoyed boating, model trains and traveling with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Alice (Haggerty) Ramsdell, whom he married Oct. 11, 1969; daughter, Wendy (Mike) Adams of Pottstown, Pa.; two sons, Eric Ramsdell of Dublin, Ohio, and Adam (Jennifer) Ramsdell of Sandusky; two grandchildren, Rachel and Brandon Adams of Pottstown; sister, Beth J. (Tom) Voltz of Sandusky; brother, Glen R. Ramsdell of Sandusky; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph J. and Kathryn E. (Miller) Ramsdell.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Monday in Groff Funeral Homes, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home; the Rev. John Mawhirter will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
