Donald D. Rotsinger, 71, formerly of Sandusky, died early Sunday morning, April 25, 2010, in Helena, Mont., following a brief illness.
Don was born Aug. 11, 1938, in Sandusky and was a 1958 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was a long-time member of the Erie County Conservation League and an accomplished marksman. His passion for the great outdoors took him to Montana in 1974 where he lived for more than 35 years. He said there was no greater place on earth than Montana.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather as well as a devoted friend of many who knew him by his nickname, "the old dog". He was a dedicated Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeye fan. His past time favorites were fishing, hunting, guns, reading and a good game of cribbage. Don always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always ready for a good joke or two. He will be missed by many.
Don is survived by two of his three children, Debbie (Bob) Hecht of Strongsville, Ohio, and Shay (Melissa) Rotsinger of Boise, Idaho; three grandchildren, Bobby Hecht and Brittany Hecht of Strongsville and Sydney Rotsinger of Boise; sister, Nancy (Don) Groves of Madison, Ala.; and nieces, nephews and many, many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Rotsinger; son, Donnie Rotsinger; parents, Walter and Edna (Bowers) Rotsinger; and brother, Tom Rotsinger.
