Rose Sylvester, 93, of Amarillo, Texas, and formerly of U.S. 6, Vickery, died Saturday, April 24, 2010, in Amarillo.
Mrs. Sylvester was born Sept. 2, 1916, in Cleveland, daughter of the late Albert and Catherine (Zymunt) Kosiba. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Sandusky and UAW Local 1216. She graduated from Lincoln High School and worked at Heinz, Standard Products, American Greeting Cards, and Sandusky County Home in Fremont.
She married James Sylvester June 4, 1935, and he preceded her in death May 15, 1989.
She is survived by her daughter, April Dunbar of Amarillo; two granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Edward Kosiba of Garfield Heights, Ohio.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter Kosiba and Stanley Kosiba.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Wednesday until services at 2 p.m. at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St.,, Clyde. The Rev. Barbara Stephens-Rich will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
Memorials may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church in Sandusky.
