Debra J. Smith, 52, of Sandusky, passed away early Saturday morning, April 24, 2010, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
Deb was born May 1, 1957, in Sandusky, and was a 1976 graduate of Edison High School. She worked more than 15 years at Fruedenberg-NOK in Milan and was a member of Faith Memorial Church. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and tending to her flowers, and most of all, caring for her pets and horses.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Leon Smith, whom she married Nov. 12, 1977; daughter, Stephanie M. Smith of Aberdeen, N.C.; son, Aaron T. Smith in the U.S. Air Force; parents, Earl William and Shirley Marlene (Manns) Dickman of Milan; brother, William (Pam) Dickman of Milan; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Memorial Church, 1320 E. Strub Road, Sandusky. The Rev. Kenneth L. Hiser will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
