Leone Louella Spoerr, 91, of Brecksville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in Seasons of Life Residential Hospice in Parma, Ohio, following complications from stomach cancer.

She was born March 4, 1919, in Erie County to William John Spoerr and Louella (Lorcher) Spoerr. She attended and graduated from New London High School and completed some business courses in college. She worked as a buyer at Beviers Department Stores in New London and Wellington. She then worked for many years as the office manager and executive secretary for Mr. Greeley at Greeley Warehouse in downtown Cleveland, at the site where the current main post office is located. She also worked administrative positions at a bank and an investment firm in Cleveland.

A longtime, faithful member of Parma Lutheran Church, Miss Spoerr kept busy with the Women's Group at the church and also with the food bank and clothing sales events at the church.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Jeanne Spoerr of New London; nephew, William J. Spoerr of New London; and countless friends from church and her dear neighbors.

Preceding Miss Spoerr in death were her parents; two brothers, Willard C. Spoerr and Ellsworth W. Spoerr; and her infant sister.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma. Friends will also be received from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. in Parma Lutheran Church, 5280 Broadview Road, Parma. Interment will follow in Grove Street Cemetery in New London.
