Inez M. (Phillips) Joerger, 88, of Sandusky passed away Tuesday, April 20. 2010, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Gypsum. She worked at the former Cassidy's Grocery Store and was a sales representative for Sarah Coventry and Avon.
Inez was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a life member and past president of the IAB Auxiliary, troop leader for Firelands Council Girl Scouts of America, and a former member of an altar and rosary society and VFW Women's Auxiliary.
Mrs. Joerger is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Karen (Nick) Shifflet of Port Clinton; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joerger in 1966; her son, Lynn Robert Joerger; one grandson, Robert Brian Shifflet; her parents, Vincent and Adalgesia (Semprini) Phillips; two sisters, Mary Samaritoni and Cecelia Muratori; and three brothers, Philip and Armenio Phillips, and Louis Phillips in infancy.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Friday until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 439 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. David Nuss will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Groff Funeral Homes, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky.
