Jean M. (Krieger) Thompson, 84, of Sandusky passed away early Friday morning in Lutheran Memorial Home following a brief illness. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and caregiver.
She was born April 7, 1926, in Sandusky and was employed as a nurse's aide at the former Good Samaritan Hospital. Jean was a member of the Wayside Temple in Castalia and always looked forward to attending Sunday service. She also was a member and past president of the VFW women's auxiliary and the American Legion women's auxiliary. Jean enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Roy (Karen) Billman of Sandusky and Paul Billman of Tennessee; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (William) Grahl of Sandusky; her companion, Malte Wasserman; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Thompson; parents, Roy A. and Lorene (Arnold) Krieger; and sister, Rosemary Rapp.
Friends will be received 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky.
Friends may also call from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the 10:30 a.m. funeral services in Wayside Temple, 3809 Maple Ave., Castalia, with Pastor Rusty Yost officiating. Burialwill follow in Calvary Cemetery.
