Gary Alonzo Hunter, 49, of Sandusky went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at home with family.
He was born July 4, 1960, in Sandusky. He attended Sandusky High School and worked for several area businesses including Holzaphel and Waldock. Gary later became an entrepreneur, owning his own construction company, G & G Construction.
Gary will be greatly missed by his surviving siblings, Esther (David Sr.) Robinson of Cincinnati, Elizabeth (William) Crooks of Cleveland, Tamala (Charles) Jones of Ypsilanti, Mich., Dr. Julia Hunter of West Palm Beach, Fla., Mary (Vincent) Hunter Elliot of Chambersburg, Pa., and Eugenia (Vernon Sr.) Seavers, Douglas Hunter, Sherley Jackson, John Mark (Sarah) Hunter, Brenda (Delaney) Alexander, Sylvester Hunter and Gerald Allen (Hope) Hunter, all of Sandusky; his caregivers, niece, Shanana (Nankie) Hunter, and nephew, David (Trina) Hunter; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Ezell Hunter Sr. and Geraldine (Cherry) Hunter; brother, Ezell Hunter Jr.; nephew, David Robinson Jr.; niece, Deondra Hunter; and his great-nephew, Kevarion Alexander.
A homegoing celebration honoring Gary will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. His brother-in-law, Elder Delaney Alexander, will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
