Gloria Jean "Baby Jean" Lewis, 68, of Sandusky went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 11, 2010.
She was born June 13, 1941, in Sandusky, the second daughter of Thelma P. Rice and William Whyte. For the last 39 years, Gloria was married to the love of her life, Eddie Lewis Jr. Gloria's first husband was Clavin Randleman. In 1962, she met Wilbert Robinson Sr.
Gloria worked for Barr Rubber Co. and Erie County Care Facility, and also did child care at her home. She enjoyed roller skating, bowling and singing in her church choir's Praise Team. Gloria accepted Christ in her life many years ago and never looked back. Walking in His light and serving the Lord was her life's work.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Eddie; three children, Loreatha Robinson (Johnny) White of Sandusky and Venus Renee Robinson and Wilbert Robinson Sr., both of Toledo; stepson, Darryl Charlton; grandchildren, Vatisheon Laquan Robinson, Jameckia Faran Hammon, Johnny Brandon White, Jahna Robinson and Kyrell Sangster; great-grandchildren, Amari Churchwell, Aaron Sowards, Imagine Hammon and Jevayah Smoot; sister, Marian Rice; aunt, Anna Mae Gardner; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. Saturday until a Homecoming service at 1 p.m. in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. The Rev Luther McGee will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
