Opal M. Summers, 94, of Tiffin and formerly Castalia, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.
She was born Nov. 15, 1915, in Bridgeport, W.Va., to Howard and Hattie (Cropp) Davison. She married Wilfred Summers, June 18, 1954; he died in 1974.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Lillian Kaye Beard of Tiffin; grandson, Scott Koch of Akron; stepgrandson, Brian Beard of Marion; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and two nephews, Gary Davison of Dublin, Ohio, and Paul Davison of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband; granddaughter, Kimberly Koch; two brothers, Earl and Paul Davison; and sister, Edna McElfresh.
Mrs. Summers was a clothing manager at JCPenney in Sandusky for 40 years, retiring in 1986.
Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday with the funeral service immediately following at 10:30 a.m. in Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 Ohio 19, Bloomville. The Rev. Dr. Lewis Dorsch of Trinity United Church of Christ of Tiffin will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Grove Cemetery in Taylor County, W.Va.
