Ronald H. Link, 64, of Sandusky died Thursday night, April 8, 2010, with his family at his side in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, after a battle with leukemia.
He was born Dec. 10, 1945, in Sandusky and graduated from Margaretta High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He retired from Ford Motor Co. in 2005 after 38 years. Ron was a member of Congregational U.C.C., Castalia, Fraternal Order of Eagles of Sandusky, American Legion post 83, Four County Conservation League, VFW Post 2529, AMVETS Post 17 and the Firelands Pioneer Power Association. He was very passionate about fur trapping and was a member of the Ohio State Trappers Association and National Trappers Association. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren, whom he loved very much.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann (Neill) Link, who he married 42 years ago on April 29, 1967; daughter, Bambi (Robert) Link of Sandusky; son, Ron (Sandy) Link of Sandusky; five grandchildren, Mike, Triston, Kaden, Spencer and Madeline; two sisters, Mary Link and Sharon Wilson, both of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ilene (Wiswell) Link; and two brothers, twin brother Donald H. Link, and Edward A. Link.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Sunday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday. Pastor John Paputza will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
