Albert T. Sibert, 67, of Sandusky died early Thursday morning, April 8, 2010, at home following a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 22, 1942, in Manchester, Ky., son of the late Thomas J. and Florence (Lewis) Sibert. He retired from the Lorain Ford Plant in 1995 after 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany during the Cold War.
Albert enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors and he was an avid sports fan spending time watching his children and grandchildren play.
Albert is survived by three daughters, Jeanne Contreras, Patricia Sibert and Audrey Sibert; and five grandchildren, Daniel, Sherry, Kayla, Klarissa and Paul, all of Sandusky. He is also survived by five sisters, Ethel Jackson of Manchester, Betty (Lester) Ealy of Bellevue, Lola (Forester) Finley of Sandusky, Judy Finley of Castalia and Cathy (Gilbert) Davidson of Norwalk; three brothers, Thomas (Louetta) Sibert of Castalia, Timothy (Rometta) Sibert of Berlin Heights and Terry (Debra) Sibert of Huron; brother-in-law, Lenny (Elaine) Longer; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene M. (Longer) Sibert in 1999; four sons, Richard, Albert, Paul, and baby boy Sibert in infancy; and his brother, William Sibert.
Friends may call 3-7 p.m. Sunday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home; Pastor Jim Gregory of Fellowship Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
