Robert J. Adelman, 84, of Norwalk died Thursday, April 8, 2010, in Fisher Titus Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 8, 1925, in Norwalk and was a lifelong area resident. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, VFW Firelands Post 2743, Eagles Aerie 711 and Knights of Columbus Chapter 626, all in Norwalk. He was a retired truck driver for Jones Trucking Company of Toledo, and worked for Dauch Concrete of Norwalk. He enjoyed camping, yard work and puttering.
He is survived by his daughter, Sally R. Hintz (Kevin Goodsite) of Norwalk; grandchildren, James and Heather Hintz, Amanda and Joseph Davoli, and Andrea and Phillip Rosenberger who are expecting their first child this June; and by his great grandson, Ethan Hintz. Robert is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Carder of Florence, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna L. Adelman in 2009; son, Terry Adelman in 2004; and his sister, Mary Catherine Bleile.
Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
