Bette Marie Wohler, 88, of Sandusky passed away late Tuesday afternoon, April 6, 2010, in The Commons of Providence, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 2, 1921, in Sandusky, the daughter of George and Lorrayne (Toft) Doyle. She was a 1939 graduate of Sandusky High School. For several years she was an administrator at Good Samaritan Hospital in Sandusky and prior to that was a secretary at WLEC when it first opened in Sandusky. She enjoyed playing cards and knitting, and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her sister, Gloria (Don) Taylor of Sandusky; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernst C. Wohler, July 31, 2005; three sisters, Mary Jane Shela, Dona Hipp and Georgia Patricia Connors; and brother, George Doyle.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. Friday until the funeral services at 2:30 p.m. in Oakland Cemetery Chapel, 2917 Milan Road, Sandusky. Chaplain David Clarke of Stein Hospice will officiate. Entombment will follow in Oakland Cemetery Gallery of Maples Mausoleum.
