Carl E. Traxler, 84, of Fremont passed away Monday, April 5, 2010, at his home.
He was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Fremont to Samuel and Jennie (Kinn) Traxler. He was a graduate of Townsend Township High School. Carl married Annabell Harding, Jan. 21, 1951, and she survives. He worked in the produce department at Kroger for 43 years. Carl enjoyed yard work and racing. He helped build Fremont Speedway Race Track. He loved being with his family.
Carl is survived by his wife, Annabell Traxler of Fremont; children, Carl E. Traxler, Diane Traxler, Jeff Traxler and Lisa Fought, all of Fremont, Tim (Gloria) Traxler of Sandusky and Cheryl Traxler of Clyde; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Douglas Traxler; parents; brothers, Robert and Clifford Traxler; and sisters, Viola Beck, Gladys Burling, Marjorie Thomson, Delma Laughlin and two infant sisters.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont. The service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor David Flack officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
