Patrick Joseph Dolan, 63, of Sandusky passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 27, 2010, in Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.
He was born May 17, 1946, in Toledo, son of the late Mary (Buckpitt) and Dr. Leo P. Dolan. He was a 1965 graduate of Sandusky High School and received his bachelor of science degree in business administration from Wisconsin State University in 1969. He was employed by Moses Management Company (Holiday Inn), Gundlach Sheet Metal and Visteon for 10 years, retiring in 2006.
He attended Zion Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Sandusky Yacht Club, Sandusky Rotary Club, Elks 285 and was active in the Sea Grant Program.
He was an avid boater, enjoyed traveling, RVing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Pat is survived by his children, Shawn of Afghanistan and Erin of Massillon, Ohio; his sister, Kathleen (Andrew) Gordon of Ypsilanti, Mich.; his brothers, Leo P. (Jeanne) Dolan Jr. of Hebron, Ky. and Don "Duke" Cole Jr. of Bellevue; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan (Holzhauser) Dolan on June 29, 2009, his parents; his stepfather, Donald Cole, who raised him; and two sisters, Mary Pat Dolan and Anna Mae McCloskey.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. Thursday until services at 11 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. John Mawhirter will officiate. He will be laid to rest during a private family burial at Sandhill Cemetery.
