Arnold W. Ehrsam Jr., 86, of Sandusky passed away Saturday evening, March 27, 2010, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 26, 1923, in Sandusky, son of the late Hertha (Troike) and Arnold W. Ehrsam Sr. Mr. Ehrsam was a 1941 graduate of Sandusky High School and a graduate of the Applied Art Academy, Akron, Ohio. For 30 years he owned and operated Ehrsam Signs, retiring in 1995.
Mr. Ehrsam was a U.S. Army veteran having served his country during WW II. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Medal and the Bronze Arrowhead.
He was a member and past commander of Sandusky Power Squadron and had received Full Certificate. He was a member of the Sandusky Yacht Club, Merry-go-round Museum and a life member of Sandusky VFW. He enjoyed photography and oil painting.
He is survived by his wife, Lois (Beecher) Ehrsam, whom he married June 16, 1951; and sisters, Margie White of Sandusky and Betty Kosmo of Lorain.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Mausoleum Chapel at Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 Bogart Road, Huron.
