Frank J. Lombardo, 88, of Norwalk, died Friday, March 26, 2010, in Toledo.
He was born Oct. 18, 1921, in Sandusky to the late Gaspar and Frances (Demma) Lombardo. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a former employee of Norwalk Furniture, TWA as an airline engineer, and retired from General Motors in Sandusky in 1987. He was a member of the American Legion Post 41, Eagles Aerie 711, former IAB Club and AMVETS of Sandusky. He enjoyed boating and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Janice Walker of Norwalk; son, George DeZelar of Augusta, S.C.; two grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce Lombardo of Norwalk; nieces, Linda (Jim) Bersche and Ann (Kevin) Schaffer; and nephew, David Lombardo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Lombardo in 1997; son, James DeZelar; daughter, Patricia DeZelar; and brother, August "Augie" Lombardo.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with the Rev. William Pifher officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery with military honors.
