Patricia Louise Bennett, 62, passed away in Chicago on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, after a lengthy battle with kidney and lung diseases.
Patricia was born Dec. 31, 1947, daughter of Clinton Bennett Jr. and the late Bessie Mae (Robinson) Bennett in Sandusky. She began her Christian service at the Second Baptist Church in Sandusky.
Pat matriculated through the Sandusky school system and was a proud member Sandusky High's class of 1965.
After attending Bowling Green State University and The University of Toledo while working in Toledo, she moved to Chicago and began working at The South Shore Bank (now ShoreBank) in1978.
Pat was promoted to a vice-presidency position in the Human Resources Department, a position she held at the time of her death.
In Chicago, Pat joined Trinity United Church of Christ, where she sang in the sanctuary choir and served as its chaplain accompanying them on engagements locally and internationally. She also served faithfully on the board of trustees.
She was preceded in death by her mother, and sister Jill Alyce (Bennett) Grayson.
She leaves her loving father, Clinton of Sandusky; two brothers, Dr. Michael I.J. (Walidah) Bennett of Chicago and Jack Allen (Frieda) Bennett of Dayton, Ohio; three nieces, Cicely and Ashley Bennett of Dayton and Camille Grayson of Lorain; a nephew, Derek (Felice) Grayson of Atlanta; six great-nephews; and a host of cousins, aunts and special friends to mourn her.
Services were in Chicago.
