Marcia Gilbert, 91, of Bellevue, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010, in Bellevue Care Center.
She was born Jan. 1, 1919, in Clyde, daughter of the late Paul E. and Margaret (Robbins) Evert. She graduated in 1937 from York High School. Marcia was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Eagles Aerie 490 Auxiliary, a life member of VFW Post 1238 Auxiliary, and Four County Young at Heart.
Survivors include her sons, Glenn (Joyce) Gilbert of Vermilion and Gary Gilbert of Oakhill, W.Va.; daughters, Linda (Dale) Garman of Tucson, Ariz. and Bellevue and Marsha "Cookie" (Glen) Alkire of Bellevue; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Evert of Vickery; sisters, Joanne (John) Reiderman of Bellevue and Helen Lowery of Tucson.
In addition her husband, William F. Gilbert, whom she married Nov. 16, 1939, in Clyde; and her parents; she was preceded in death by four grandsons; two granddaughters; and brothers, William Evert, Allen Evert and Richard Evert.
Friends will be received 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Funeral services will be private.
