Florence J. Lee, 90, of Fairfield, Ohio, and formerly of Norwalk, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at her daughters home in Fairfield.
She was born Sept. 17, 1919, in Sandusky, daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Oswald) Cassidy and lived in this area for 60 years. She was a member and former rectory volunteer at St. Paul Catholic Church in Norwalk and retired from the Huron County Clerk of Courts office in 1969.
Florence was a member of the Huron County Republican Women, was a volunteer poll worker for the Huron County Board of Elections, and was a former member of Firelands Garden Club. She enjoyed flower gardening and ceramics, was an avid reader and was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
Florence is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Diane L. (John) Kosey of Fairfield and Linda L. White of Simi Valley, Calif.; and her grandchildren, Christopher L. White, Lynette L. (Brian) Neher and Jenine M. (David) Gambrell. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Alex and Olivia Neher and Tyler, Justin, and Amanda Gambrell and by her sister and brother-in-law, Irene (Merrick) Silcox of Norwalk.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. Lee in 1997; brothers, William, Bud and James Cassidy; and by her sisters, Virginia Emmerick, Mary Jane Frye and Margaret Fitzgerald.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Frank Kehres will officiate. Interment will be in Scott Cemetery, Huron Township.
