The Rev. Edwin Maurice Crawford, 81, of Mosheim, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, surrounded by his family at the home of his son in Mosheim.
The Rev. Crawford was born May 9, 1928, in Kentucky. He lived in Lakeside, Marblehead and Clyde most of his adult life. He had been the pastor at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Marblehead, was an avid Bible reader and had a photographic mind. He also worked as a laborer at Standard Slag in Marblehead and in construction. He was World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include eight children, Judy (Jessie) Stover of Chucky, Tenn., Rosemary (Rumaldo) Soliz of San Antonio, Kenneth (Janet) Crawford of Sheboygan, Wis., Janice Harvey (Joseph Levi) of Plymouth, James (Pauletta) Crawford of Kingsport, Tenn., Silas (Celia) Crawford of Sandusky, and Byron (Babbie) Crawford and Mark (Bernice) Crawford of Mosheim; 26 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and 17 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Pauline (Yates) Crawford, whom his married Dec. 10, 1946, and who died Oct. 8, 2006; a son, Roger Dale Edwards; his parents, Elijah and Hallie Mae Crawford; stepmother, Mary Crawford; siblings, Elijah Crawford Jr., Kenneth Crawford, Eleanor Edwards; and a niece, Debbie Edwards.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Sackett Cemetery, Marblehead.
