Lizzie Mae Morris, 79, of Sandusky died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born July 18, 1930, in Columbus, Miss. She worked for General Motors for 25 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She loved crocheting, cooking and gardening.
Lizzie was survived by her daughters, Hildred Morris of Maple Heights, Ohio; son, Jesse L. (Graciely) Morris of Toledo; grandchildren, Dante Maurice Morris and Lila G. Frye; sisters, Florence Jones and Catherine Ruffin, both of Sandusky; brother, Johnson Short of Columbus, Miss.; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse J. Morris, July 17, 1995; a son in infancy, Michael Morris; parents, Jake and Viola (Moody) Short; sisters, Luberta Brown and Sarah Short; and brothers, Ezekiel Short and John Emmett Short.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church; the Rev. Clayton E. Howard will officiate, and the Rev. Franklin Churchwell will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
