John Blankenship, 84, of Clyde passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Jamboree, Ky., a son of Madison and Sarah (Ashby) Blankenship. He was employed in the Maintenance Department of Ford Motor Company, Sandusky, until his retirement in 1987.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Berchie of Clyde, whom he married May 10, 1947, in Grundy, Va.; a daughter, Tammy Rivera of Bellevue; three grandchildren; a sister, Veda Raypole of Clyde; and special friends, Paul and Rosemary Schneider of Clyde.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Ann, and numerous brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today in Foos-Klein Funeral Home, 318 S. Main Street, Clyde, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
