Dorothy Winifred Hill, 91, of Naples, Fla. and formerly of Bellevue, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 26, 1915, in Sandusky to Hazen and Magdelina (Arhelt) Hill, now deceased. Dorothy moved to Bellevue in 1928 and resided there for four years. She graduated from the former York High School, Norwalk, and moved to her retirement home in Naples in September 1974. She was a consummate seamstress and enjoyed playing euchre and bingo. She was a member of the Palm River Ladies Crafts group in Florida.
She is survived by son, Charles (Mary Jo) Wilken of Bellevue; step son, Erroll B. (Anitha) of Sidney, Ohio; step-daughters, Marjorie (Larry) Milkie of Green Bay, Wis., Fairy (William) Cook of Aurora, Ohio, Genivieve Anderson and Rebecca S. Pomerson, both of Naples, and Carol (Douglas) Green of Amherst, Ohio. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sisters, Emily Rose Shaffer of Berea, Ohio and Hazel (”Pete”) Orwig of Bellevue.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Allen Broud, and Arthur Pomerson; sister, Alice Hill Broud; and brother, Lester Hill.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m Tuesday until services at 11 a.m. in Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue, with Pastor Stephen Seibel, of St. John’s Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be later in Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue.
