Marianne E. (Brady) Barry, 65, of 1302 E. Strub Road, Sandusky, died unexpectedly Monday morning, Feb. 19, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, after a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 31, 1941, in Cleveland, and was a graduate of St. Mary High School. She had was employed as a manager for the State of Ohio for more than 25 years.
She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was involved with the Council of Catholic Women, Christ Renews His Parish and Teens Encounter Christ. She was an avid volunteer with Huron St. Peter’s Catholic School, Firelands Montessori School and St. Mary’s Parish rectory and convent.
Marianne led a full and active life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 49 years, Patrick Barry, whom she married July 19, 1958; sons, John (Melissa) Barry of Avon Lake, Ohio, and Tim Barry of Phoenix; daughters, Patricia Ann (Larry) Gutos of Tempe, Ariz., and Dr. Christine Barry and husband, Dr. David Ernst, of Vermilion; grandchildren, Jessica and Madison Barry, Joey Gutos, Jacob and Nick Ernst and Morgan, Kerrigan, Dillon and Jordan Barry; four brothers, Chuck, Daniel (Amy), Tom (Robin) and Tim (Sandy) Brady; and three sisters, Darlene (Chuck) Smith, Sally (Denny) Galloway and Debe (Jake) Gelvin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles C. and Agnes R. (Krause) Brady.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Philip Feltman will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
