Elaine Kelly, 51, of Milwaukee and formerly of Sandusky, departed this life unexpectedly on Feb. 14, 2007, at her home.

She was born March 16, 1955, in Cincinnati, to Lois and Wesley Kelly Jr. A graduate of Sandusky High School, she became a nurse’s assistant. Elaine worked for the former Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Huron Health Care and, Erie County Care Facility, as well as doing private nursing duty. She had a passion for helping people. To her family and friends, she was Nurse Kelly.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, LaToya Kelly of Sandusky; son, Onaje Kelly of Milwaukee; mother, Lois Brown of Milwaukee; companion, Darryl K. Bailey of Milwaukee; sisters, Debra Brown of Milwaukee, Brenda Dennis of Aurora, Colo., and Tracey Dennis of Sandusky; brothers, William L. Brown Jr. and Adrian Brown, both of Milwaukee and Greg Kelly and Michael Kelly both of Cincinnati; stepmother, Buelah M. Brown of Sandusky; several nieces, two nephews; a host of great-nieces and nephews, whom she helped raise and loved very much; dear friends, Norma Rivers and Carl Gray; and aunts, uncles, cousins, many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Kelly Jr.; stepfather, William L. Brown Sr.; maternal grandparents, Frank and Clara Sanford; paternal grandparents, Wesley and Clara Kelly Sr.; sister, Lisetto Doll Dennis; brothers, Larry Adams Dennis and Larry Sparks, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. Wednesday until funeral services at 1 p.m. in Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 224 Dixie Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Samuel Mickles will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
