Walter F. Nemitz, 82, of Sandusky, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, in Cleveland Clinic, after an extended illness.
He was born Feb 17, 1925, in Sandusky, and was a lifelong resident. He retired from CCC Trucking Co., Sandusky, as a truck driver after 30 years of working. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran of World War II. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Sandusky and volunteered at the Maritime Museum, Sandusky.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ruth (Blade); two daughters, Susan (Rick) Lange of Findley and Bonnie (Rich) Carruthers of Sandusky; a son, Brian Harple of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Jane Harple of Sandusky; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Brenda (Hottenroth) Nemitz; a stepson, Ron Harple; a sister and a brother.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Pfeil Funeral Home, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Ernest Matijasic, pastor of Grace Episcopal Church, Sandusky, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
