James E. "Jim" Jess, 83, of Port Clinton, died, Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, in Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton.
He was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Lacarne, Ohio, the son of Harmon and Ethelyn (Collins) Jess. Jim worked as a plumber for many years. He served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of St.JohnLutheran Church, VFW Homer D. Gardner Post 2480 and Moose Lodge 1610. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include, friend, Viola Randell of Tiffin, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and half sister, Dorothy Windnagel of Oak Harbor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virginia Jess Fick; and brother, Chuck Jess.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until services at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, with The Rev. James Lehman officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ottawa County Humane Society, Ottawa County Transitional Housing-Ruth Ann’s House or the Ottawa County Historical Museum.
