Marie L. (Gannon) Brown, 88, of Lakewood, Ohio, and previously of Rocky River, Ohio, died Friday morning, Feb. 9, 2007, in Bradley Bay Health Center in Bay Village, Ohio, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on Sept. 18, 1918, in Cleveland, Ohio. Many friends will remember her fun and loving spirit while working at Faroh's Candy, Cozad Hallmark Cards and K-Mart.
A devoted mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her son, David (Susan) of Boston, Mass.; and five daughters, Barb (Rich) Wenzler of Avon Lake, Mary Ellen (James) Cozad of Westlake, Judy (James) Dresser of Rocky River, Joan (Matt) Boyle of Sandusky and Betty (Ed) Hess of Fairview Park; 13 grandchildren, Colleen (Peter) Notter, Mary (Chris) Klym, Michael Brown, Stacie (Mark) Levy, Jason Leach, Lisa and Amy Ravindra, Allison Hess, Matt Wenzler, Roger (Carrie) Bilak and Julie Bilak, Corey and Kevin Boyle; 10 great-grandchildren, John and Mary Kathryn Klym, Patrick and Matthew Notter, Brenden Levy and Chelsea, Lauren, Cody, Katie and Kelsey Bilak. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Loretta Gannon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, D. Howard Brown, in 1974; infant daughter, Geraldine; her parents, Michael and Mary Gannon; and stepmother, Emma (Gorman) Gannon; brothers, James and Edward; nephew, Michael Gannon; and son-in-law Dr. Raj Ravindra in 1993.
Arrangements were handled by McGorray Funeral Home of Westlake, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday in St. Angela Merici Church, Fairview Park, Ohio. Entombment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio.
