Betty Ramon, 83, of Sandusky, died Monday evening, Feb. 12, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 31, 1923, in Morristown, Tenn. She retired from the former G & C Foundry in Sandusky, in 1989, after 36 years of service. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed playing bingo. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her daughter, Marie A. Ramon; and son, David R. Ramon of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Melissa (Darrell Philon) Ramon of Sandusky, Angela Ramon of Columbia, S.C., and Kevin and Scott Ramon of Sandusky; and four great-grandchildren, David C. Ramon, Daisha Philon, Dariaus Ramon and Brayden Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, David D. Ramon, June 28, 1997; and her parents, Charles and Gladys Darnell.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky, with The Rev. Chris Kardzis officiating. Entombment will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
